Gauss was an 18th century German mathematician who made very significant contributions to many different areas, becoming known as "The Prince of Mathematics" after he died. It's a cool title, but I think the Chuck Norris of Mathematics has more potential for silly jokes like the ones you'll find at http://www.gaussfacts.com/.
